An attempt to capture the exhilarating feeling of timelessness.  A clear, plaintive note emanates from Terbrugghen’s flute player and floats to us across  four centuries.  It forms a perfect circle to envelop and neutralise a writhing mass of unrest within the most peaceful of blue tones.  Such is the timeless power of beautiful music and of Terbrugghen’s masterful painting.

It is interesting to note that Terbrugghen’s original is in portrait format and has a playful atmosphere.  The simple step of representing it in a square format is all that is needed to make the sound of the flute more soulful and eternal.
