What sort of person lives in this room?  One who thinks nothing of plonking their pottery collection down in front of what, judging by the frame, is obviously a valued painting.

And the room is strange too.  A shadow falls across the corner of the rather alarming juxtaposition of painting and pottery. The light appears to be coming from the left and slightly above but the source of the shadow is not obvious.  It would have to be close to the wall and may be expected to jut in and cover part of the showcased painting.   The table is further from the wall and casts a faint shadow but the jugs which, theoretically, should throw a sharp shadow across the protective table cloth, in fact cast shadows that are even more diffuse.

There is probably a perfectly reasonable explanation for the apparent strangeness.  But unfamiliar rooms can be mysterious and slightly sinister and give a lasting first impression of the stranger that lives within.
