A very beautiful young lady dances sensuously to the exotic sounds of the drum like instrument and wailing accompaniment of her seated companion.
The proximity of the dancer suggests the action takes place in an intimate setting – the background somehow brings to mind a small bar or a night club.
The spotlight falls onto the floor behind the dancer and across the rear wall. It gives the appearance that she no longer wishes to dance in the spotlight for the benefit of the crowd.
She is now dancing for the viewer alone.
