A young girl stares out beyond the comfort of the home she is used to – a warm, glowing protective and nourishing environment  - and into a harshly lit nightmarish scene heavy with violence and terror. Her expression is not one of revulsion.  Rather, the scene appears to hold a strange fascination for her and as she floats precariously on the edge of the known, one feels that the merest nudge would be sufficient to topple her into the dark abyss beneath her feet.

For now at least, she remains within the bounds of her known world.  Her young glowing flesh and self protective semi-foetal pose are in such marked contrast to the searing light and helplessly bound figures of the night time ambush that we are in no doubt of this.

But her youthful curiosity is aroused and will overcome any fears.  One day soon she will step out and begin to experience the joys and sorrows of the world.  As, indeed, she must.
