How the West Wasn’t Won. Compiled from photographs of our trips into the
desert region around Las Vegas, this painting shows us looking very touristy
as we pose before a varied landscape of strange red rock formations and
misty blue hills.
The
temperature was well in excess of 100°F and I am standing there without a
sunhat appearing to melt into the landscape, while Joan’s handbag seems
completely out of place in this setting.
Stacey balances precariously between us and turns her head awkwardly
for the photographer. Certainly
not pioneers this trio. Just
fleeting visitors before a vast and timeless land.
