Ultimately, this painting represents a plea for Peace.  The blue of the Peace Panel infiltrates into the Panic section and subdues its impact to a significant extent.   The painting would perhaps be better named Peace Over Panic.

The Peace Panel is copied directly from my much earlier painting Triumph Over Death of 1985.  I have not yet managed to come up with a better representation of the Holy Spirit than the dove in that painting of the Trinity and had no problems pressing it into service again here.

The Panic Panel is another of my grid and circle format pictures – the best means I have yet found for capturing the confusion, noise and hard searing emotions invoked by the unknown and fearsome.

The letters are a comparatively rare addition.  Although there are only 7 of them (M,H,C,A,G,D and E) and all are commonly used in the English language I challenge anyone to rearrange them into a sensible word or phrase.

The painting could also be interpreted as the entry of the Holy Spirit into a world of terror or into a tortured soul.
